A note from the Festival organizers:

Thanks for visiting our website and volunteering to help out with the 2006 Winter Carnival. We hope this event will mark the beginning of a new era of public skating at the Bartlet Mall. Below are listings of volunteer opportunities that will help us immensely in the running of the carnival. Volunteers are needed during the Festival as well as before and after the event. If you are interested in participating in one of these areas, simply fill in the Volunteer Form.

• Snow Clearing of Walkways, Stairs and Ice Surface (during week prior to event)

• Ice Resurfacing  (Wed., Thu. & Fri nights prior to event)

• Photographers (during the event)

• Equipment Pickup/Delivery/Return  (day before event, day of, & day after event)

• Setup grounds/Power Supply/Heater (8:00am)

• Setup Tents/Tables/Chairs (8:00am)

• Setup Skating Area - Hockey/Figure Skate (8:30am)

• Setup Sledding Area - Signage/Cones (8:30am)

• Setup Relay Area - Signage/Cones (8:30am)

• Setup Marshmallow Roasting Areas (8:30am)

• Setup Horse-drawn Rides Area (8:30am)

• Setup Snow Sculpting Contest Areas (8:30am)

• Setup Parade Areas (8:30am)

• Parade March & Remarks (10:30-11:00am)

• Setup Raffle Items & Manage Table (11:00am on)

• Manage Skating Club Membership Table (11:00 on)

• Monitor MM Roasting (11:00 am on)

• Monitor Open Sledding (11:00 on)

• Monitor Open Skating (11:00am-12:00pm & 1:30pm on)

• Monitor Snow Sculpture Contest (12:00pm)

• Ice Sweepers (if needed) - Exhibitions (12:30-1:30pm)

• Monitor Skating/Hockey Exhibitions (12:30-1:30pm)

• Race Assistants/Monitors (1:30-3:00pm)

• Breakdown Tents/Tables/Some Chairs (5:00pm)

• Trash Pickup (5:00pm)

• Removing & Saving Decorations (5:00pm)

• Remove & Load DPW Items (5:00pm)

• Banner Removal (5:00pm)

• Floaters (willing to do various tasks during day)
